A phone with the Daluur app: tomorrow's hourly prices as bars, with a charging window placed over the cheapest early hours

Context

Once customers could see tomorrow’s hourly prices, the next question was about the car. Charging takes hours, and the cheapest stretch moves every day.

My role

I designed the charging screen and built the first prototype in SwiftUI over a few evenings, picking up where the strip of hours in the app left off.

Solution

The screen shows tomorrow’s prices as a row of bars. Drag across them to choose when the car charges. The handles snap to whole hours and pull toward the cheapest stretch nearby, so a rough drag usually lands on a good window.

Once the window is set, the app starts and stops the charging on its own.

What I learned

Precision is the app’s job, not the customer’s. A drag only needs to be roughly right if the handles know where the good hours are.
