This page explains what personal data this site processes, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
Bram Lindeboom, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Email: hello@bramlindeboom.com.
What I process and why
When you visit, my website host processes your IP address and basic technical data, such as your browser and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in running a safe website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you email me, I receive your email address, your name if you give it, and what you write. I use it only to reply. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If I add analytics, it runs only if you accept it in the cookie banner. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). The Cookies page says whether any tool is in use.
Who receives it
My website host and my email provider, who process it on my instructions. An analytics provider only if you accept analytics and a tool is listed on the Cookies page. I don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
Outside the EEA
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision of the European Commission, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified U.S. companies, or on the Commission’s standard contractual clauses. You can email me for a copy of the safeguards.
How long I keep it
Server logs: only as long as the host needs them to deliver the site and keep it secure. Emails: only as long as I need them to answer you and keep a record of our conversation. Analytics: none while no tool is listed on the Cookies page. If I add one, that page will say how long its data is kept.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or limit how I use it. For data processed with your consent, you can also ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email me and I’ll answer within one month.
You can object at any time to processing based on my legitimate interests, such as server logs and email. I’ll stop unless I have compelling legitimate grounds to continue.
You can withdraw analytics consent at any time with the Change my choice button on the Cookies page. That doesn’t affect anything that happened before.
If you think I’ve handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or to the authority in the country where you live.
Everything else
You don’t have to send me anything to read this site, though your browser shares technical data, such as your IP address, so the site can load. I don’t make automated decisions about visitors or build profiles of them. If I ever add a tool that does, I’ll say so here before it runs.
